Chelsea are being connected with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and some of the club’s fans have given a good response to the transfer speculation.
According to Spanish publication Marca monited by 4PMGH.COM, the Blues are monitoring the uncertain situation with the 27-year-old.
It is explained that the France international may not be willing to renew his deal with Spanish giants Madrid, which is due to expire in 2022.
The report adds that the La Liga outfit could plan to sell the centre-back this summer if he doesn’t renew his deal at the Bernabeu.
Varane, who earns £172,000-a-week (Salary Sport), is an ever-present in the Madrid XI and regarded as one of the top centre-halves in Europe.
He’s won four Champions Leagues during his time with them, plus he played every minute at the 2018 World Cup when he helped France become champions.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are adamant that he’d be an elite signing for them if they could swoop at the end of the season.
Marca reports that he could be available for around £44million in the summer window, which seems relatively low for someone of his calibre and experience.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues side currently have a plethora of talent at centre-back, as well as talents out on loan, but Varane’s signature is one fans are eager for if he’s available.
